The Federation of Historical Bottle Collectors Newsletter Contest

The Federation Newsletter Contest is held annually to promote research, education, and quality club newsletters. Newsletters from Federation affiliated clubs are eligible to enter. Newsletters submitted must have been published during the year for which it is entered. 

Winners will be announced and awards will be presented at the annual FOHBC National Convention. Winners will also be published in BOTTLES & EXTRAS.

Points and scoring information (total 100 points):

A. Substance – 34 points

B. Style / Appearance – 33 points

C. Entertainment Value – 33 points


The guidelines are as follows:

1. SUBSTANCE - INFORMATION/RESEARCH
This category includes research/information articles in such areas as glass houses, specific products, companies or manufacturers, druggists, saloons, liquor dealers, dairies, distilleries, breweries, and/or the people behind them and club activities and members. 

2. STYLE / APPEARANCE
This category includes the layout of the newsletter, including graphics, lettering, color and the visual appeal. 

3. ENTERTAINMENT VALUE
This category includes the enjoyment the audience may get from reading the newsletter.
